You can build your own underwater video camera and get the same exciting underwater video shots the well known commercial cameras are getting, only much cheaper. Lunkercam is great for finding Walleye, Crappie, Bass and other fish through the ice or open water. Recording the underwater video from Lunkercam on a camcorder allows you to share your experience with others or create a database of fish responses to different types of lures, baits, colors, or jigging action.

Locate fish, check your bait action, see what kinds of weeds or rocks make up the lake bottom contour. Find underwater treasures like anchors, lures, tackle, rods, reels, sunken boats, submerged trees, trolling or boat motors.

You can spy on the bird nest in the backyard, or keep an eye on the kids. With the aid of the infrared night vision, you can watch your game trail in the dark, or use the camera for security surveillance. Many other uses.

Lunkercam underwater cameras are waterproof tested to a depth of 125 feet.

Lunkercam 3 is 2 1/4 inches in diameter by 3 1/2 inches long, uses a B&W miniature camera module having 0.03 lux sensitivity and a 3.6mm 92 degree wide-angle lens, or a Color camera module with .5 lux sensitivity and a 3.7mm 90 degree wide-angle lens.
You can even start out with B&W camera and upgrade later to color if you wish.

Lunkercam 3 has 8 infrared LED lights which are invisible to the human eye. This allows you to view objects in total darkness up to 10 plus feet while camera is out of water.

You can also purchase the Bright White LEDS option for better visibility and to insure full color spectrum for the color camera in darkness.

Bright White LEDS also work better with the BW camera but remember White LEDS are visible light and may not be the choice for security or game trail use.
If the Bright White LED option is used the infrared are not installed although they are still part of the kit.

The Bright White option is $10 if purchased with the kit, $15 if ordered separately. This includes 4 Bright White LEDS and 2 resistors with instructions. Lunkercam kit is set up for 4 Bright White LEDS only as retail cost on Bright Whites are $3.50 each in single pieces.

Lunkercam 3 camera operates from a 12 to 15 volt source and draws approximately 160 milliamps of current.

Distance viewed underwater is dependent upon water clarity and suspended algae particles. Expect 30 feet plus daylight visibility in real clear lakes, much less in stained lakes. Night vision using LED's underwater is a few inches to 5 feet depending on suspended particles in water.

Lunkercam 3 underwater camera is NOT difficult to build. Required tools include screwdrivers, drill, soldering iron, saw, small pliers, cutters, and a utility or exacto knife. The plans guide you step by step with detailed photos and instructions.

This is NOT a complete kit of parts. Instead, it is a 10 page, step by step instruction package with 33 illustrations and schematic showing how to make the necessary connections. Included with the plans is a partial parts kit with the following items:

Acrylic window, rubber gasket, eight infrared LEDS, one resistor, two routed and drilled camera mounting disks, camera mounting nuts and screws, cable clamps, heat shrink tubing, terminal strip, voltage regulator, and camera mounting spacers.

The Lunkercam 3 camera modules are mail order items not supplied with kit. This can be purchased from SpyTown 718-709-0500

The remaining parts not supplied in the partial kit are easily obtained through your local hardware store, home building center and Radio Shack.

Lunkercam 3 will display its video on a TV set which has separate Audio and Video jacks. These can be purchased several places including Spytown. You can use a $10 Playstation RF Adapter(not supplied) allowing any TV set tuned to channel 3 to work. I will show you how in the plans.
