"The InterNIC
Directory of Directories: is an index of pointers to resources,
products and services accessible through the Internet These pointers
provide descriptions of resources available to the Internet community. The
Directory of Directories is compiled by the InterNIC Directory and
Database Services (admin@ds.internic.net) at AT&T from contributions by
members of the Internet community. This work is supported by an agreement
with the National Science Foundation (NSF). The editors have made
reasonable efforts to provide correct information, but neither AT&T nor
the NSF is responsible for the accuracy of the listings in this directory.

weekly. The Pursuit search engine provides probabilistic retrieval from
this catalog, taking a user's query and returning a sorted list of hits
(the list is sorted by match score, and only documents with scores above

A Catalogue of Electronic Texts on the Internet

Alex allows users to find and retrieve the full-text of documents on
the Internet. It currently indexes over 700 books and shorter texts by
author and title, incorporating texts from Project Gutenberg, Wiretap, the
On-line Book Initiative, the Eris system at Virginia Tech, the English
Server at Carnegie Mellon University, and the on-line portion of the
Oxford Text Archive. This is a searchable Gopher index.
