The Set Colors Utility allows you to set most of The Union Organizer colors. You can also assign a bitmap or icon file as the background wallpaper of the forms.

Clicking the Set Form Wallpaper button displays the Choose Picture Dialog - just pick a picture file to set the wallpaper. To clear the wallpaper, click the Set Form Wallpaper button and choose Cancel.

Clicking any of the six buttons displays the Windows Color Dialog shown above so you can pick a color for the corresponding surface. You can set fore (text) and back (background) colors independently for the Window Surfaces, the Tab Page Controls, and the Panel Boxes. The color of this utility will change as you set colors so you can see how your choices look.

The colors of a few parts of the system cannot be set with this utility. They include Push Buttons, Windows Dialogs such as the Color Dialog above and the Printer Dialog, and a few other objects. Most of the colors that cannot be set here can be set fr om the Windows Display Control on the Windows Control Panel. Conversely, the Windows Display Control cannot set the color of any component whose color can be set with The Set Colors Utility.

In the early 1990's while an employee at The University of Minnesota, I became involved with organizing the clerical employees. That campaign ultimately led to the formation of locals 3800, and 3801. I continued my involvment as a member of 3800, sitting on the E-Board, Chairing the Budget and Finance Committee, and chairing the Organizing Committee. I also spent much of my time continuing to actively organize Local 3800.

From the beginning, it was obvious to me that a software product was needed that would allow organizers to efficiently collect and use the data they needed so they could spend thier time organizing. Later, as I became cought up in the computer revolution and started writing software full time, I used my computer skills to help other organizing campaigns make better use of thier PC's. All of this experience, and lots of encouragement from other organizers, led to the creation of The Union Organizer! Harry Lefto Software was formed to further develop and market this software, and future software solutions.
