The Main Menu

The Main Menu appears at the top left of the desktop the first time that you start The Union Organizer. If you don't want it in the top left corner you may move it to any location you like and that is where it will appear the next time The Union Organi zer is started. The following is a list of the submenus of the five menu options on the bar:

File - Exit
Database - Building List, Department List, Title List
Reports - Standard Reports, External Reports
Utilities - User Preferences, Duplicate Search, Your Table, Add Photos, Set Colors, Glob al Edit
Help - Help Contents, Help Index, Online Help, About

Everything that The Union Organizer does starts from this menu. If your PC has plenty of RAM you may wish to leave the menu bar on your desktop when it is not in use (you might put a shortcut to The Union Organizer into your Windows Startu p Folder). Note that The Union Organizer does have a rather large memory footprint (about four Meg - it is a database after all) so you should consider your PC's characteristics.

The remainder of this manual describes each of these menu options in greater detail.

The File, and Help Menus

The only option on the File Menu is Exit, which closes the Menu Bar, and hence, The Union Organizer. You may also close by simply clicking the close button on the Menu Bar (the upper right corner). In general, you may only close after shutti ng down any of the screens associated with the menu options (listed above).

Help Contents and Help Index display the on screen help system which is very similar in content to this manual. Online Help will connect you to the Harry Lefto Software Home Page if your PC has a modem or other internet access, and a Web Browser instal led. This page may contain additional help, but note that its contents are subject to change at any time. It is, however, a convenient way to submit questions. The About Option displays the version number of this software as well as some info about Harry Lefto Software.
