
The Add Photos Utility

If you decide to use the photo field on the Names Group of The Main Data Screen you may want to use this utility. The Add Photos Utility greatly simplifies installing image files if you intend to include photos on more than a few records.
Note that The Union Organizer does not provide any graphics or scanning software. You must create the image files yourself using a digital camera, a video camera, or a scanner and the associated software.
This utility attaches those image files to the data for you, so that you need not edit every record in the data to attach the pictures. All you need to do is:
1) Create a folder (directory) to store the image files. It can be anywhere and have any name.
2) Specify that folder in the "The Photo Folder is:" text box shown above.
3) Check "Update pictures at every startup" to have The Union Organizer automatically check for new photos at each startup. If you will not be
adding photos often it is better to leave it unchecked and just open this utility and click the "Add Photos Now" button whenever you add pictures.
4) Whenever you import/scan photos save them to this new folder. The image files MUST be named with the following format:
LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_MI.???
The three question marks refer to the file extension, which may be pretty much any common image format such as BMP, JPG, GIF, DIB,...
The name must exactly match the corresponding name in the data. If you have a record in the data for Mary A. Smith and you have a photo of her in jpg format then you must save the image file as:
SMITH_MARY_A.JPG in the folder that you specified.
