
The Ratings Page

This fills the RATINGS field Drop Down menu located on the Names Group of the Main Data Screen.
The Union Organizer comes with the Ratings shown above preset. This has proved to be a good system of Ratings. If you choose to substitute another set of Ratings try not to get too refined. You will never get two organizers to assign the same Rating to someone if you have ten different possible Rating Values. Remember that Ratings are a way to judge the overall strength of the membership based on personal relationships with individuals. They are not a measure of good and bad, or who's in and who's out. Here is a brief explanation of the default rating system:
1 - is someone who is extensively involved with the union or organizing campaign.
2 - is involved a bit less, but attends meetings, and is a reliable vote.
3+ - is supportive of the union but hasn't made the transition to involvement - but with a few visits...
3 - average.
0 - you haven't met this person yet.
4 - is stuck in a state of mind that doesn't accommodate unions - try not to think of a 4 as an enemy - people do change their minds.
You make changes to this page in the same way that you change the Areas or Organizers.

This fills in the STATUS field Drop Down menu located on the Names Group of the Main Data Screen.
The Union Organizer comes with the Status Values shown above preset. This field might be used to avoid deleting a record whenever someone claims that someone is no longer employed. For example, you can't find someone while organizing and someone else d own the hall tells you "she doesn't work here any more" but a week later you hear that she is on maternity leave - but you have already deleted the record. Using the Status field, you would have changed her to "GONE" and then changed her back to "EMPLOYED", or maybe you would add another status category - "ON LEAVE". Change the values in this field to suit your taste.
If you do use this field, remember not to include "GONE", "LAID OFF", etc in the Active Filter when you run Reports...
